Internal Transfer to McCombs

I got into CNS, but I am looking forward into internal transferring into the business school. I was wondering how difficult it is to actually do this though. I have read the minimum requirement is to have 24 hours during my freshman year and also complete macro/micro and calc1/calc2. I was curious whether I could complete these classes in a community college, and would it affect my admission. In addition to that, I am going to attempt to get a GPA around 3.8, but realistically, on a scale 1-10, how hard would you say that would be? Also, in addition to the GPA and the required classes, do you guys have any recommendations for extra curriculars that would allow me to stand out during the internal transfer admissions process? I believe majority of the applicants for internal transfer probably did have the GPA and had completed the required classes, though what sets them apart from the others?

Please give any sort of input will be great! Thank you!

Its much easier to transfer from within the university than outside. If you go to a community college, I think its harder to get into their business school than completing a year in UT then transferring.

Just wondering if anyone has a solid answer to this: the website for internal transfers to McCombs tells what the “minimum GPA” is and what the “mean GPA” is. Does this basically mean that anyone at or over the “minimum” will likely be admitted?? I understand what the mean GPA indicates, but was just wondering for admission purposes, is the “minimum” an indicator that you will be accepted if your GPA meets or exceeds that?? May seem obvious, but I’ve read many posts that say different things…Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

The minimum GPA is what you need just to even have your application looked at; the actual GPA you’ll need to have a realistic shot of acceptance is going to be higher.
