Is anyone else gonna try to transfer to McCombs internally because i wanted more information if anyone has talked to the advisers about this lately?

i’m not a student at UT but i would be interested in knowing the internal transfer rate…is it better/easier to go from a particular major to mccombs?

must you have a 3.5+

I don’t have answers for you topawala20, but there is still one more internal transfer information session left. Maybe you could attend and they can answer your questions. You can find the information about it on this link.

You can find the internal transfer statistics on this link. I don’t believe major is a factor. They only quote GPA.

Can I still go to the internal transfer information session even if I don’t currently attend UT? I just got accepted to UT(Liberal Arts) last week and I will be starting UT in the fall of 2009.

There really is no reason to rush to attend these transfer sessions, as they’ll have one at your orientation and also numerously throughout your freshman year. Oh and you can’t apply until your spring semester, so seriously, no rush.

If you wanted to, you could. They don’t check ID. You sign in on a sheet with your name and UT EID, but if you really wanted to for some reason, you could go.

As thatsmekevin said though, you have plenty of time and they do offer the information sessions at orientation.

Ok so I need someones help on this part about internally transferring to McCombs for next year. I found this website which tells you the requirements and if you meet the requirement or not.
<a href=“Sign in with your UT EID - Stale Request”>Sign in with your UT EID - Stale Request;

On the website one of the requirement is this: “Notice: Students who have completed at least three years of college (90 hours) are ineligible to apply”.

and then to the right of that is this: “Student’s total classroom hours at the end of this spring: 53.” Which is what I have at the end of this spring.

I finished 2 years at a community college and I am transferring to UT this year into Liberal Arts. Would I be ineligible if I complete my 3rd year even if I have less than 90 hours at the end of next spring?

I thought the part about being ineligible after 90 hours was for external transfers. For internal transfers, it reads:

You should be eligible to transfer internally after a year if that is something you still want to do.

actually that 90 hours thing is also for internal transfer(90 hours also includes transfer hours). But ya I talked to a mccombs adviser a few months ago and he told me that as long as I have less than 90 hours, I am still given the same priority as the people who have 24 hours. The only difference would be that I would need to complete all the business indicator classes (which I already have). I saw this thing about “completed atleast 3 years of college” threw me off. But I guess on average people take 30 hours per year so it makes sense.
and I would have about 80 hours by the end of next spring.

Idk why i even asked this question, guess i just needed reassurance so thanks for that. lol
