I want to internally transfer to Wharton. I am ED in SEAS. But I no longer want to pursue engineering for personal reasons.

I did not mean to transfer internally, but it just happened this way. I am not trying to take the back-door approach. (even if it may seem that way)

So, What do I have to do? (besides get a really high gpa?)

Anyone with personal experience of transferring?
What classes do I take?
Any tips at all?

I think there are like 2 courses that you have to take freshman year, to keep pace with the wharton kids, and have a 3.8 or higher. I think as long as you have the GPA you are in, its just the part that getting a 3.8 in SEAS is quite difficult.

Two friends matriculated as engineers and planned to transfer into the College, so they just enrolled in all College courses. That could be a possibility for you, since many College courses will fulfill Wharton requirements. If you know with 100% certainty you DON’T want to do engineering anymore, and if you take those kinds of classes, you’ll be able to transfer into the College after freshman year if your GPA is only in the mid 3 area… you are, however, taking a risk: if you get below a 3.0, you can’t transfer into the College, and you should not presume that you will get above a 3.0.

If you are sure you don’t want to do engineering, register for Math 104 (if you don’t have credit already) and Econ 001 first semester. Then take Econ 002 second semester. The other courses you take will depend on if you want to stay in SEAS if you don’t get into wharton or if you would transfer into the college.

If you would transfer into the college, I recommend taking some easier courses in the college to boost your GPA into the 3.8 range (which is what you will need)

if you want to transfer into wharton you absolutely have to have a good gpa. talk to your counselor, they’ll have better advice than anyone on here.
