Internation Scholarisips and financial aid

Dear all, I'm an international student and i'm totally confused when it some to financing the education, please help me, i really confused!
Thanks

Not enough info to help. In general Federal government financial aid is not available to international students. Some colleges and universities may offer scholarships or grants but generally do not cover the cost of college. You will be required to fill out financial aid forms supplying the colleges with your parents financial information as well as your own financial information. Some colleges will ask on their forms how you and your parents intend to pay for college. You will be required to supply copies of documents to substantiate the information on the financial aid forms. If you have specific questions, ask and I’m sure someone will be able to answer but right now, your question is too general.

well, thanks, but to specific, am a 12th grader, my parents can’t afford college costs, not even for a single year right now, that’s what i can tell you right now, what any other information you need to know so my question won’t be general?

PS: is the “general Federal government financial aid” you mentioned the same that colleges call FAFSA?

Federal aid is disbursed based on the information in the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Are you living in the United States? Are your parents living in the United States are questions for starters. If you are not living in the US, then you would probably be best served by your home country universities. There is also a forum specifically for International Students if you go to the Discussion home page and people there will be able to walk you through the logistics.

OK thank you very much

As an International student you are not eligible to file FAFSA or to receive federal aid. You would need to check with the schools you are interested in for their policies for aid for international students and for which forms they would require.
