Internation Village

I'll be living in International Village this fall. I was wondering......how big are these rooms in comparison to other upper classmen dorms? Do they have kitchens? I know there's two people per bedroom but how many people are there in one apartment?

I’ll be living in IV east also but Heres the link to pics I found from some1’s profile: [International Village/ Parcel 18 | Facebook](<a href=“Facebook Public Group | Facebook”>Facebook Public Group | Facebook)
i dont think there is a kitchen used just by students as you can see there are semi private single and double rooms. The space is not that large in the room but there is a lot of common room area. They are not really apartment styled but overall pretty nice

red glory: are you a freshman at northeastern? if you are, how did you get housing at IV, is it because of an LLC or was it random? if you’re an upperclassmen, can you tell me what your freshman housing was like? thanks.

There aren’t “apartments” like most of the other upperclassmen dorms. They are just two doubles connected by a bathroom or two singles connected by a bathroom-- depending on your floor. I believe they have a small kitchen on each floor for when you feel compelled to use an oven, but other than that they are the same as a normal freshmen dorm. The only perk is a new building and you only share the bathroom with up to 3 people.

jump4me: thanks for the pictures…they were very helpful

whoopfer: yes i’m a freshman. I got into International Village because of LLC I think…

neuchime: thanks for all the information

Which LLC is housed in International Village?

@Red_Glory your welcome. @whoopfer I am not sure what other LLCs that are in international village but i know that creative expression, international and computer science is there.

Does anyone know where the business LLC is housed?

In InV, the LLC’s are Honors, Creative Expressions, and I think International.

Not sure about Business

much smaller than west village

the bathroom will be very nice to have though
no kitchens or living rooms or anything like that

they’re basically similar to the other dorms, maybe a little bigger, with the shared bathroom. and of course, all the added benefits such as wireless, air conditioning, the dining hall downstairs, etc.

The best part will probably be the gym downstairs. It’s brand new (obviously) and for IV dormies only, and according to a friend of mine who is an RA there, the machines are all pretty awesome. Personal TVs in the treadmills, and such.

Wait, there’s air-conditioning? In the dorms? Do I still need to bring a small fan? [I’m a freshman, btw, living in honors housing, if that makes a difference!]

The newer dorms all have air conditioning. I would definitely recommend a small fan though. I lived in WVF. While most of us assumed that changing the thermostat did change the temperature of the room, it varied greatly. For instance, the thermostat in room B would change the air blowing in rooms B and C, and if room B loves their room to be really really cold… then you should buy some nice socks for room C. Also in my room, the thermostat in the kitchen changed the temperature in room A. Since the kitchen/lounge was larger than room A, it needed to be set at a warmed temperature than usual to keep everyone toasty in the winter, but the moment you went to bed in room A you were dying of heatstroke.

Point is, half the time you don’t get to control your own temperature despite having “air conditioning” in your room. You never know when you’ll be sitting there and really wish you had brought a fan.

(On a side note, space heaters aren’t allowed)

Will do! And thanks for the info!

I can’t believe I move in in less than 2 weeks!

Concerning the Computer Science LLC, only the upperclass version will be at the International Village. The freshman version will be in it’s normal spot in freshmen housing.

(got this from several places on the website and from someone in the admissions office)
