Can anyone post the statistics this year?

5 from my country (Japan) including me

thats demotivating :(

5 people from Japan applied or 5 got in?

66 internationals got in, I think.

66 from ED?

Well, certainly not RD, since that is usually around 250-300.

Just one ED admit from India... Last year there were 2 admits in all from this country.

Did anyone get in from Sweden (or any other Scandinavian country)?

Do Canadians count as internationals?

Yes, canadians do count as internationals.

@snipanlol: Of course not. The international percentage of the entire class (~1200 students) is about 10%, so 250-300 internationals is a bit far-fetched

Yes, it should be 66.

Of the students accepted through early decision this year, 11 percent are international students

5 applied from Japan.

250-300 is not far-fetched b/c not all of the admitted international students will choose to enroll.

how many people applied international ED if only 66 were accepted??? Does Princeton consider financial aid differently fro international students than domestic?

Financial aid is not considered differently (if you're admitted and have need, you'll get it -- that seems to be the general rule), but the international pool as a whole may be tougher. (Sucks to be us.)

Princeton is the most liberal univ about financial aid for internationals... One of the CCer here who applied early was given a grant of over $45000. So you shouldnt be worrying about financial aid..

but yeah we INtles have to worry about gettin in! :D

princeton is need-blind for all applicants, domestic and international

Slightly more than 100 internationals per year are enrolled at Princeton for about 8.5% of the total class according to the school's CDS. They probably admit around 40 to 50 of them in the ED round.

The net result is that they will not admit more than 100 internationals in the RD round. As a point of comparison MIT has the same yield with international applicants as with US applicants without an ED program. There is no reason Princeton's yield will be significantly different.

Princeton does not publish the number of international applicants but if it is similar to MIT's it would translate to a 5% acceptance rate.
