Can anyone give me any insight into how this major is at Northeastern? I really fell in love with NEU (and got accepted into the honors program!), but that was before I really had any clue as to what major I was interested in. Now I'm really interested in International Affairs (but I'm still definitely Undecided). How's this program @ NEU?

Thanks :)

I'm at international affairs major at NEU and I love it. I also applyed undeclared last year and I listened to the IAF proffesors speak at admitted students day. It sounded so cool that I declared my major after that.

Honestly, it is a pretty easy major. I feel like I don't do too much work. A lot of the coops for IAF are unpaid (hah and they don't tell you that until you are already in the major). I love it though. The professors are great and the classes are really interesting. It is basically a mix of many different subjects: history, politics, anthropology, sociology, language and more. You also choose a region (south america, africa, middle east, europe, asia) to focus on and do a few more classes in that. There are lots of opportunities to travel through study abroad, international coop and faculty led summer programs. There are a lot of different ways you can go in terms or jobs also. You could work as a diplomat, for a government, for an international organization like the UN, for a non-governmental organization...

International Affairs

let me know if you have anymore questions...
