International Aid

Do Mexicans even apply? What's that supposed to mean? You think India is the only country mooching off U.S. higher education? The whole world does it... including our neighbor to the south, Mexico. I'd really love to know why it's unlikely for Mexicans to apply.

for the records...i havn't met a single mexican down at the int'l forum..
bongoboy...chill...i was just askin...i'm obviously entitled to my opinion...and i'm free to voice them...if they're wrong...i apologize...but u don't have to be so down-right harsh

OH MAN! No Mexicans on the international forum on College Confidential must mean there are absolutely no mexicans applying to an institution of higher learning in the United States!

Arjun, I wasn't harsh at all. I just asked you a question.

canadaeh,
in my opinion, the Int'l forum gives a fair indication of the sort of applicants to US universities...and i never meant NO mexicans apply...what i meant was that few, fewer atleast than many other countries, apply...

I know Arjun, I'm just giving you a hard time :p
But still, how is not giving internationals aid treating them like "scum"?

its an over done exaggeration i guess...
i just wanted to know why people from Canada/ Mexico are given special considerations over people from other countries

I don't believe that fewer Mexicans apply than other groups of internationals. I would like to see some proof.

People from Canada and Mexico are given preference because they're our neighbors and allies.

its a press release in india...but has statistics for most of the countries

India's the leading sender followed by China...Canada's at #5...and Mexico...well...doesn't live upto what u people say it does

Thanks canadaeh.

oops...we obviously posted the posts at the same time...sorry

while canadaeh's represents only cornell, mine gives a fair indicator of all US universities

hopes to be a Undergraduate Canadian Student @ Cornell statistic next year
