hey, i'm from london, and already sent off my forms for EA but there are some queries i'd like to put forward...

In the UK we don't have nearly as many EC socities or national awards/letters etc. how does this affect me? (my list looks pretty bare compared to some of these)

and..

I hear the accepted SAT scores are sometimes a bit lower because we don't do exams like that...what would a typically good score be?

I am from Australia, and james.gin is absolutely right about how we (both the Poms and the Aussies; haha) aren't exposed to many things we can put in our applications compared to you guys from the States.

Our system just doesn't do things that you guys do.

And the SATs are VERY different to exams that we take.

i had the same questions about SAT... some months ago, i got in touch with a girl from Bolivia who applied and was admitted at Harvard... she told me that SAT are not the most importan thing in the application... the limit was 2000..

Admissions look at the differences in school systems and know a lot about them. There is no pressure to have the US standard AP classes, perfect SAT/ACT,Honor Society and anything else that is not on offer. Do well in your HSC or OP or IB program or which ever state you are from, the math contests etc run by the NSW University are "extras" for example but don't get hung up on these... .... think 4-5 kids ended up as Freshman this year from the Pacfic region....supposedly a big haul..some years none are picked.
