My A2 exams will be in november
I have written a pretty good app essay
and my recommendations are extremely good
My rank in class is (1/109)
I have very few EC's:-
Karate -brown belt
Chess-State level Winner
Member of the student council in my school
Have helped my friends build a website(Maybe that may not count)
My predicted grades for A2 are all A* except english(for which a C or B might be possible)
I have taken part in 9th std. in national science olympiad and national maths olympiad(though didnt get a very good score)
Taken part in many science fairs and competitions
Won 3rd prize on National Science day for a project(competitors were from all over the city)
I know i am very weak in EC's
Please give me tips to improve my EC's and other parts of the application</p>

<p>And what is the acceptance rate for SEAS ED?
And how badly does my chances go worse if i am applying for AID
I will be able to pay (15000-25000)$ for my education</p>

<p>[Penn</a> Admissions: Financial Aid for International Applicants](<a href=“http://www.admissionsug.upenn.edu/applying/aid.php]Penn”>http://www.admissionsug.upenn.edu/applying/aid.php)</p>

<p>Unfortunately, while Penn is need blind for US citizens, they do not apply this policy to international students. Yes, this is pretty unfair.</p>

<p>I don’t want to deter you from applying ED to Penn SEAS if that is your dream school, especially because you may stand a better chance due to the fact that not that many people ED there (compared to other great engineering schools), but…</p>

<p>And I feel kinda bad for saying this… you may be better served applying to Princeton engineering instead because Princeton is one of the few schools that is 100% need blind for all applicants.</p>

<p>^the man has a point, it is a much wiser choice considering OP’s need</p>

<p>Ok can you tell me would i have a good chance in Penn if i didnt give my application for Financial aid and took a loan form a bank out here in india</p>

<p>Why do you keep saying ‘gave exam’? It should be sit for, did or took. </p>

<p>Grades-wise, you’re doing well. </p>

<p>Unfortunately, as you have pointed out, your ECs are not very strong. I think ECs are very much dependent on what your area offers. I’m international as well and the idea of setting up clubs (what quite a few students in the US do) in my school is very hard to do!</p>
