Here it is:

Dear sucharita,

The Caltech Admissions Committee has carefully reviewed your
application and
is impressed with the credentials and experiences that you would bring
to
Caltech. Because the number of highly qualified candidates exceeds the
places available, we have placed your name on an unranked Waiting List
of
candidates who will be considered for admission if places are available
after May 1st.

In the past five years the number of students accepting a place on the
Waiting List has ranged from 123 to 310 and the number of candidates
offered
admission from the Waiting List has ranged from zero to 45. Because we
do
not order the Waiting List in any way, we cannot project the chances
for any
individual candidate. Every effort will be made to notify you at the
earliest moment of an available place in the class and we expect that
all
offers of admission from the Waiting List will be made no later than
June
15th.

Please return the enclosed reply form in the envelope provided
postmarked by
April 15th to either accept or decline a place on the Waiting List. If
you
have questions about your status, please contact the counselor
responsible
for candidates from your area, Ray Prado, Associate Director of
Admissions,
at ray@admissions.caltech.edu.

Sincerely,

Richard W. Bischoff
Director of Admissions

Great such.... you deserve congrats for it was really tough...15/500...oh no....

Got the package by FedEx yesterday morning. I wasn't even expecting it; I was still recovering from the blow of waiting for a DHL package from MIT that was never to come. So happy.

thanks, sucharita, for the info.

and congrats ... u r still among the top 550 applicants or so ... and it's still a great feat

anyways ... hope you get in ...

hi jwlee?
which school do you attend?

hi:)
i attend K.M.L.A.
y do u ask?

I contacted the admissions office. They said:

We were a bit delayed in getting everything out. I would expect that you would hear from us very shortly. We will send our denied students and waitlisted students email, but we insist on notifying admitted students via FedEx. In many cases we have to deliver an offer of admission and a financial aid award. We don't want to be sending financial information via e-mail.

I know the waiting is difficult. Be patient for a couple of days. If you have questions about our decision once you do receive it, please be in touch with me directly.

So, that means not all letters have been emailed ... and we must not be too glad that we haven't yet received an email ...

Congrats jwlee8!
But you are a domestic student living abroad right?

Hey Jwlee
I asked you your school
because I thought I met you in the IPO
I'm KMJ

jwlee is not living abroad
