I'd really like the prospect of being able to work with foreign companies in foreign countries and i figured that this would be the ideal choice. but the general consensus from many is that this isn't a very lucrative major.

they hire people to do accounting, corporate finance, management, w/e.
they do not really have positions called 'international business'.

so what does this mean?

if you want to work at a company, in an international capacity you will need to know what capacity you want that to be in. Are you going to be a financial analyst for the company, some kind of sales position which may involve dealing with other international companies, that kind of thing.

so really, if you want to work in an international capacity, your best bet would be to extensively study the language for the region you want to work in and major in something much more specific that will give you the skills you need to do your job very well.

typically companies will also require you to spend your first few years in the US at their home operation to just get a feel for things and prove yourself, then you can go abroad.
