Intending to apply:
Chicago EA
Stanford
Berkeley
Cornell
Penn

reading Economics.

Thanks in advance!

your ECs look excellent, but you should try to trim it a little. to give some focus to your application.

I assume your safety is in your country? If you really want a US school you need to add to this list. The competition from Singapore is brutal at these schools.

^ Well he has another 2 years to apply (due to NS), so there’s not a real need for safeties just yet. Besides, his ECs are excellent! I would say up the SAT (I & II) and write fantastic essays.

Thanks for the advice! I’ll definitely be working on my reasoning scores.
As for safety schools, I’d consider Emory, Michigan and UIUC, but i dont know if they are even safe to begin with.

holy, you are the most qualified student i’m seem thus far. damn. if you can’t get in, no one can. especially if you don’ need FA (u must freaking loaded)

Are you applying for financial aid? If you are, things might get tricky. I assume you aren’t as you have UC EA listed.

I’m not applying for any sort of FA (:

wait, how in the world do u get an internship at a law firm when you didn’t even finish high school. Some of your things sound kind of unrealistic. I feel that instead of Cornell, go for Princeton instead.

There are actually ample opportunities, I’m still regretting not going for a food&beverage company intern due to time clashes. I’ve heard from my seniors that Princeton doesnt favour Singaporeans that much, not sure either …

btw I’m also holding a PRC passport as S’pore allows citizens under 21 yrs old to hold dual nationality.

what exactly did u do at the law firm? and Princeton love people with excellent credentials and ECs like you. (you need really good essay though) I think you have a really good shot. In the end, they probably will take a few students from Asia and i think you stand above the rest, especially if you can explain what you actually did at those internships =D please delight me

I see you are from Hwa Chong - hello from your senior =p. Reasonable chances all the above schools provided that you trim your EC list and find something that really makes you stand out above the rest.

shuai^3 Office work is kind of mundane and will take up hours just to find an old case to support the argument but court itself is totally a refreshing experience.

Hey Frank(chn) senior! i believe i know who you are, i’ve added you on fb :)

Have you really got/did all the above things that you wrote? If its real, than you have a great resume. However, it makes me think, how in the world can someone do all this stuff in 4 years? Can you tell how many hrs/week and weeks/year you have done some of the stuff you wrote about?

Yeah I did them, there are students in my sch with much better resume (olympiads etc), I’m just living on my passion for economics because i want to teach in the university next time and inspire others to love the subject just as I do.

Do you still have time to retake your SAT1? I think with a better SAT1 score you’re definitely in for Chicago! And you look like an excellent candidate for a PSC scholarship too :D

I’ll be trying again this coming dec, however my last Alevel paper’s on 2 Dec ): I’ll have time to take my SATs next year if I didnt get psc scholarship… [2 years of army]

Thanks anyway!
