International Chances

Hi, I am a senior in Marymount school, Barranquilla, Colombia. I am an iternational student interested in majoring in PolScience at Columbia University and I would like to know what my chances are.

Average: 9.1/10 - 3.64/4
SAT Scores:
CR: 630
M: 640
W: 570
I haven't taken the Subject Tests and probably will take the SAT:Reasoning again.

We don't get to elect our courses. We have to take about 14 obligatory courses a year. Which include: English, Spanish, French, Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economy and Politics, World History among others.

-I am a MUN member for 4 years and I have gone to conferences in NY, Bogota (Capital of Colombia) and Barranquilla (my city), and won multiple prizes.
-I am an INTERACT member, which is like a Comunity Service Group. Member for 2 years.
-I am now a member of the Student Government in my school. Starting this year.
-I have been in various Philosophy congress.
-I have classified multiple times in the Colombian Olympics of Math and Science

I went for a week in Holy Week for comunity service in poor rural areas of the country.
I took a French course in Jonquiere, Quebec, Canada.
I speak Spanish, English and French.

I would need financial aid.

Thanks for your help,

Camilo

your SAT scores are VERY low otherwise its ok but I think the SAT will hurt your chances alot.

Improve your SATs and hope for the best, I guess. Columbia is extremely tough to get into. And make sure you really know the stuff before taking the subject tests, don't just study the day before. You will probably have to take all 3 at one sitting, which may be a little risky.

Your math is way too low for an international. Try to reach 2050-2100.
More important than GPA is your class rank.
