hey everyone,

i'm from singapore, doing secondary 3 (equivalent of ninth grade) at a top girls' school here. i am interested in hotchkiss, andover, exeter and choate rosemary hall. does anyone know how tough it is to get into these schools if you require substantial financial aid? dad recently lost his job due to financial crisis so while we have substantial savings and live an uppermiddleclass lifestyle, his income isn't that great as his new job pays about half what his old job did. thank you so much!

The acceptance rate for these schools is less than 20%. It is good that you are from Singapore, but it’s harder for you to receive financial aid.

hmm harder but is it impossible? because i would really like this experience but no $$ to fund, sadly.

You definitely would stand a great chance if you have very good grades, high SSAT scores, good extra curriculars and sports. FA is much harder to receive now with this economy, but most definitely possible if you stand out during the application process. Also work at having a GREAT interview. Making it clear how important to you it is to go to __ school.

Good luck!
