International Editions of textbooks

So I bought a book on Ebay for my accounting class (Mgmt 120A) in the fall. It was listed as the International version, but the photo the seller put up looked like the US version, and he indicated it was hardcover.

But when I received the book today, I found that it didn't look like the photo that was on the seller's page, and that it's paperback.

My question is: Do International versions have exactly the same content as the US version? Or should I return it and get a refund?

international versions are usually exactly the same as US versions, you just need to make sure that the international edition that you bought should be the same edition as the US version. Generally, int. versions are paperback and are cheaper. So just check the edition, if its the right one, then it should be fine.

Yeah it's the same edition. I'm primarily concerned about the problems being different though, like the homework problems being completely different or being numbered differently.

That's a chance you will have to take when purchasing international editions. I've only met one person so far that has bought an int'l edition that had different HW problems and missing chapters.

passerby - did you happen to buy the book for Litt's class? Because I bought the international version for Litt's class (120A) and the problems are totally different from the US version. At least the international version I bought was totally different in terms of the problems.

If you want, you can like read me like one problem from the book and I can compare it to my book. If the problem arethe same, you have a problem set different from the US version.

Altema, the International edition book I got is Intermediate Accounting 4th edition by Spiceland (ISBN-10: 0-07-110535-2). I bought it for a Fall 2007 Mgmt 120A class. The book Litt used for 120A in Summer Session A is the US version of this international book.

Thanks for offering to go over some problems! I appreciate it.

In my book, Exercise 12-1 (p. 592) is about SS&T Corporation of Bolivia. The exercise uses the Bolivian currency, BOB.

Problem 20-3 (p. 1041) is about Russ Corporation of New Zeland. The problem uses the New Zealand Dollar (NZD).

Exercise 6-14 (p. 296) is about Alexion Healthcare Co. borrowed $200,000 from a bank and signed a note requiring 20 annual payments of $26,776 beginning one year from the date of the agreement.

Thanks again!

Those problems match the ones in my International version. So that means your text does not match the US version.

Off topic, but look at your PMs. I have a question for you.

Thanks for the help, Altema. I'll call the seller and ask for a refund.
