International high school refuses to send transcripts

Hello,
I am an international student, transferring from a CCC to UCSD for fall 2012 and my high school back in Turkey refuses to (directly) send my high school transcripts to UCSD. They say that they don't want to "get involved" ( Second world bureaucracy 101) .

I already mailed my translated and notarized hs transcripts and it looks like they received it ( It shows on my application). I called UCSD and tried to explain the situation but the not-so-kind lady on the phone said I have to wait them evaluate the transcripts. Now I am extremely worried that they won't accept them as "official" and my admission will be rescinded since the deadline is July 15th.

I've been trying to find a similar thread but nothing so far..
Any similar experiences?
any information or suggestion?

Thanx a lot.

Make them send the transcript directly to you

Then once you get the transcript send it to UCSD

Or do they not want to send it to the U.S. at all?

since when do ucs look.at highschools for transfer?

to verify us history requirement and random stuff. like language. Apparently for uci they requested mine to verify language/history requirement/ + showing graduation

Aren’t you exempt from sending in high school transcript once you have IGETC?

Yeah, thats what I thought too. But I know that at some schools you can use high school courses in place of others to complete Igetc. So if you did four years of a language, but they are only asking for one which do they use to compute GPA?

should’ve went to ucla or ucsb they don’t require hs stuff. win

@jnguyen471, cokelly Funny thing is, since I am international I don’t need to satisfy American history or second language requirements… Plus I took 2 semesters of French during college, which is my third language. Idk what else they want it for…

@Philosoup Yea I kinda had to. Couldn’t get into UCLA, and UCSB’s film program is a joke.

@lawlking The problem is, they don’t want to send anything to anyone. I am in Turkey for a month or two, I can get them in a sealed envelope but I need to have them translated in English (which means I have to open the envelope). So I can’t really find a way.

@Cokelly @lawlking

For whatever reason, UCSD wants transcripts from all high schools attended even if you are a transfer student.

Really? Its probably.because of the competition. To my knowledge, last year they had more Tapers and Tagers than they had spots for transfers (not even UCLA or Berkeley had that) haha! Are they also looking @ SAT, AP, and other standardized test scores? Im sure they still matter less than CCC GPA though.

Oh and I admit this may be a bit OT but congrats on having a 3rd language! Mine is only Java… Haha!

Well they only want HS transcripts after they accept you and you SIR so I think it may be just a formality type of thing.

I have a friend who went to high school out of the country too and she was really prepared. She asked for copies of her transcripts before she left. Haha. I would say ask them to send it to you. That would be best.
