International Interviews: India

Hey guys!
I am an applicant to MIT and submitted my application to MIT on January 1, 2016. I wanted to know about the interviews which are selective here in India. So on the dashboard and the checklist we saw a tick against the Interview bullet implying because it is initially waived for some reason. Now after a month of this, some of my friends don’t have the ticks anymore and the waiver message in the details section has vanished. All I got to know was that they are going to receive interviews sometime later, and this disappearance of the tick is an indication. I still have it there. I am also an aid applicant and so I sent in my CSS on Feb 1 which reached MIT on 3rd. THe portal says it is important to send in all documents for the application to be reviewed so I guess that maybe a reason I haven’t got an interview as yet, because being selective the application should be complete before MIT can roll out an interview. Are there anymore interviews rolled out? Till when do the students keep on receiving notifications? How many people in India get an interview? Does “no interview” imply rejection? Is the disappearance of the tick a purposed move or just a bug?

Thank You so much for your help!
