honestly… there are a lot of domestic applicants just like you and some that are better. It is highly highly unlikely that you’ll be admitted with full financial aid. However, just give it a shot. Just keep in mind that only around 30 students per year get full rides… so chances are very very slim.

UChicago doesn’t have an undergraduate business program, as far as I’m aware. You can major in something business-related, but there is no specific undergraduate business major.

(I’m using [Majors & Minors | The College](http://college.uchicago.edu/academics-advising/majors-minors) as a source; feel free to correct me if I’m wrong though.)

Right, I don’t think Uchicago has a business school/program…but I have heard that it has a very good reputation regarding business-related majors…Is that true?

Yup, UChicago doesn’t have Business or any other preprofessional majors like Education. It has a very good reputation b/c of it’s professional school, the Booth School of Business, which most people agree is in the top 5 worldwide.

If you consider Econ a business-related major, then, yes, it’s strong in business-related majors. But if the only real reason you want to go to the UofC is for some perceived edge in getting into their business school…then I suggest you think a little more.

^^ One thing to consider is that if you’re applying because of how good you think they are in a certain field, you might not be able to write the ‘Why Chicago’ essay very convincingly (think: the economics is world-famous vs. I really, really like the atmosphere & I do actually like learning). And even then, you might hate it there (look up some of the featured discussions, particularly the Chicago FAQ).

I’m not saying that’s why you’re applying; it’s possibly (probably?) not. But that’s how it comes across to me.

I am actually applying to Chicago because I think it has a good business program/classes…I know it’s not a very strong reason, but since I am not able to visit any US universities, the only thing I can rely on is their websites…(and what people say on here but that can be very subjective…). Any advice on how to find a fitting school?

I don’t think you understand; Chicago doesn’t have an undergrad business program.

I know Chicago doesn’t have an undergrad business program, but I thought its economics (or similar to business) degree is highly regarded…

I think you can get in but you will be short of getting one of the 30 full tuition scholarship. You may get the 5000 or 10000 merit. Try it anyway and good luck. And Never say you are applying for a business major anywhere on the application/essay.

^lol okay thanks!
