International or Domestic?

Is my child considered an international student if she attends boarding school in Europe, has an American duel citizenship and her parents live equal time in two locations (US and over seas) She's not sure if she should use her US address or the address overseas.
Which is better for applying for US colleges?

If she has US citizenship, it doesn’t matter where she lives, goes to school or what other countries she has citizenship in - she is still considered a domestic applicant. And that is to her advantage.

Most applications have spaces for the permanent residence (in this case the home address in the US), and for a mailing address (in this case her address at school). A lot of her correspondence will be electronic, so provided she as a “grown-up” email address along the lines of firstname.lastname@xyz.com she is good to go.

If her current school does not routinely send students to study in the US, she should contact the closest advising center of [EducationUSA | Study Abroad, Student Visa, University Fairs, College Applications and Study in the U.S. / America](http://www.educationusa.state.gov) to get help with the application process.

Wishing you all the best!
