International or not?

Hi, I have dual citizenship to both the USA and the UK. I live in the USA. If I apply to a school in the UK am I counted as an international applicant or not?

Usually they consider you an international applicant if you did the last 3+ years of school outside the UK. So yes, since you live in the USA (and, presumably, went to HS here) you’ll be considered international for the sake of your application.

As for whether you’ll get charged international fees, that gets a bit more complicated and has to do with where your parents pay taxes I believe.

Here’s what the Cambridge website says: “Generally speaking, in order to be considered as a ‘Home’ student for tuition fees purposes, you need to either live in an EU member state or have indefinite leave to enter or remain in the UK. In addition, you need to have lived in the European Economic Area (EEA) for the last three years, not solely for educational purposes.”

[Fee status](<a href=“Study at Cambridge | University of Cambridge”>Study at Cambridge | University of Cambridge)

uscamstudent is correct. You will be considered an international applicant for fee and admissions purposes. As such, you will have to pay tuition at the international rate, which is considerably higher.

Thanks, guys. Good to know.
