International Rejected from UCLA

Yes I too got rejected from UCLA. I've heard that it's really hard to get into the UCs if your outstate let alone international.

Anyone know the admit rate for International students to UCLA?

I'm really scared because I've applied to Chicago, Brown, UVA and Cornell as well. I hope this rejection from UCLA mean that unless a miracle happens I'm rejected for Chicago, Brown, UVA and Cornell too!

:S :S :S :S
super scared.

I have no answers for you, but I was just wondering where are you transferring from?

Not transfering. I’m a first year applicant. Attending High School in Asia

The intl admit rate for Cal last year was 22%, if that would help.

I’m not sure about LA though.

UVA will be hard, because they have similar OOS admissions procedures as UCLA. I’m hoping you applied to some safeties, because all the ones you mentioned are at least as difficult as UCLA…

good luck!

International Rejected from UCLA as well…
Sign… ToT

i dunno the admit rate for International students to UCLA, but one of my friends got admitted to UCLA last year with only SAT1800+ and no national rewards at all…

U know what…I am even more scared than u…I also applied to Chicago, UVA and Cornell…

bzsc01: thanks for the stats and WOW Cal’s admit rate was 22% for international?? I’m guessing LA’s will be similar if not higher. THat really sucks. :P

lol I wasn’t daft enough to put LA as my saftey. I got into UCSD and UCSB. I also have 5 offers from UK.

but I really want to go to Brown or Chicago and was banking on LA decisions to give me an indication. :S

Iris. sorry about the rejection. but that’s really cool! where are you from?

does it become easier to get in as internationals if you don’t apply for aid ? how much easier does it become ?

^ internationals cannot apply for aid.

I’m international and I got into UCLA…
Waiting to hear from Brown, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, and UPenn but I doubt I’ll get in :-)

spangie.phalange:
i am from shanghai, china…

Same admit rate for internationals as the CA pool. The highest rate, 28%, is the OOS domestic rate:
