<p>Does anyone here know about this program in Stanford?How is it compared with Georgetown,Columbia?</p>

<p>i responded to this question last year, but i think that despite the geography (columbia is in ny, v. close to un and all that and of course georgetown is in d.c.) stanford has a good ir program. ir + polisci are some of the most popular majors on campus, and we have a great research center (the freeman spogli institute for ir research) and of course the hoover institution (which is NOT all conservatives) and if condi does come back we'll have three ex secretaries of states/defense teaching? pm if u want more specific info, but there are a ton of programs (internships, fellowships, research grants) and then there's stanford in washington if you want the location (ill be doing it this fall during the elections). there's a center for security research, a center for democracy research, and a center for asia pacific research (given stanford's location near asia)....</p>
