How respectable and competitive is the UPenn IR program?

how respectable and competitive is your mom?

hmm, lets see,

the director of the IR program is a pulitzer prize winner

the economics, political science, and history departments that are the core of IR are top notch if not some of the best in the nation

and the administrative person, Donna Schuler is the sweetest woman ever.

venuss... at least it wasnt a chances thread!!

Internally, it's pretty competitve.

I'm an IR major here, and when I went in to declare it as my major I was confronted with an interview. My acceptance was deferred to the end of the semester provided I keep my grades at a certain level in the curriculum pre requisites, which you need a 3.1 GPA in (really high).

Then you have to write a senior thesis - it's the only department that I know of which requires one. It also appears that graduating with honors is difficult. So yeah, pretty competitive.

a mister plantan wouldnt have been involved in that rigorous interview, by an chance?

IR at Penn is among the best.

By association, so am I. woot.
