International Relations

I'm a Junior with a lot of interests. Until recently I have been torn between PreMed or English. I am Canadian as is my mom, dad is American and I probably will choose to become a Acitizen at 18. I see how my parents with differing educations and cultural backgrounds view the world differently. Can anyone give me any information on this field of study (International Relations) and what I can do with a Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate in this area? Thank you.

This would be a good starting point.

And in case you're interested, some of the best-regarded schools for IR include: Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, Tufts, and Middlebury (in the highly selective bracket). George Washington, Occidental, American, UWashington, Denison, and Macalester (in the slightly less selective bracket).

You can do anything. It's basically liberal arts with a global emphasis. My IR major buddies are in the World Bank, Wall Street, the State Department, various US intelligence agencies, consulting firms, grad schools, think tanks...

Ivies have good IR ;)
