I don’t remember something like media. Was it experimental?

@ AvCont!!! I totally agree with all of your answers for the thing it was choc, waff, and something and oatmeal last haha :P

I got writing experimental the bird was non experimental (first writing section)

Anyone remember anything about the violent games???

T"“here was this percentage decrease sum which had numbers like 8250 and 7250 between 1997 and 1998: what was that”""

For that it was8500 to 7500 so that is like 8500-7500/7500 it was 5 percent :P

@suppapp I think the points were halfway between (8000 - 8500) and (7000 - 7500) [which is why I took them as 8250 and 7250]
Even if you do take 7500 and 8500. Percentage decrease would never be based on the final number. It has to be the initial number so it would be 1000 divided by 8500 (ie initial number in 1997) = approx 11.7% which is still closest to 10%

Did anyone else think that the vocabulary words were really hard on this one. I did not know half of them :/

No, they were much easier than the oct test.

that 40/3 grod-in!!
I only it is more complicated because the projects(hauteurs in french) are proportional but not the sides! I put 40/3 but then got confused and lost 5 min figuring out equations: it semed like a real tough question but then i said this is meant to be done in 1 mn so i left the question perplexed and wasted much of my time on it!!

So which section was the experimental one??

this f(a)+f(b) one was ambiguous. I also thought that there are two different variables and my answer was 48, not 24 as some of you guys write here. Everything else was just fine.
The two 35q sections slaughtered me though All tests in the big blue book had just one 35questions section.
The essay prompt was pretty good. I used an essay of a German politician and a philosopher’s views as examples. The night before the test, I did the practice test from Barron’s SAT 2400. The essay there was something about children rights and I had no idea what to write. I was horrified that we’d get something like this today.

the critical reading was messed up…

math:

5cm for the hair one
40/3 for triangle ratio one
the last math grid in was 24 (12+12)
the water tank was 160 mins

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH im flipping out…got at least 2 wrong on math and at least 6 in CR ■■■ ■■■ ■■■

and for the percentage decrease question, isnt it (Amount of decrease/Initial value)??

and i put profound for the mark twain one…

superflous, pastoral, stark, guilt and compuction, controvery…

any of these vocabs click ?

Did people really not find the CR hard? I was stuck on most of the passages. *** was the answer to the one about the tree in the pacific. Was it showing that the tree destroys habitats or that trees thrive in a tropical climate?

just remembered a question i was doubtful of: was the tone of the second paragraph in one of the passages righteous indignation? cuz i put that…

I’m pretty sure the trees with giant leaves were destroying the habitat. If you chose “thriving” you got it wrong :(

Did you guys find the essay prompt difficult? I found it tough to think of historical or literary examples concerning “abundance of choices”.

This reply is late, but isn’t it quintessential and cerebral? If I remember the question correctly, it went something like “Diligence is a _______, but it is being undermined because people want instant gratification.”

Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary, 8th edition

ac • quaint • ed
BrE / əkweɪntɪd /
NAmE / əkweɪntɪd /

example bank
[ not before noun ]
1 ~ with sth ( formal ) familiar with sth, having read, seen or experienced it
The students are already acquainted with the work of Shakespeare.
Employees should be fully acquainted with emergency procedures.
2 not close friends with sb, but having met a few times before
We got acquainted at the conference (= met and started to get to know each other) .
~ with sb I am well acquainted with her family.

I think the question with acquainted is no error

a few questions on CR…

“Diligence is a _______, but it is being undermined because people want instant gratification.” the question went sth like this i think… what was the answer for this one??

for one of the sc q’s, is the answer superfluous or perplexed??? i thought it was perplexed but it seems like a lot of ppl put superfluous. :(

i dont remember the question but two of the answer choices were cunningly fraudulent and ultimately problematic… which one is correct?

does anyone remember the answer for #18 on the last CR section?? it was sth about how the person changes throughout the passage… this is the one about the computer programmer becoming a writer…

For the diligence sentence I chose diligence is something… And compromised by… I just know the second word was compromised. The other second word I debated was repudiate but I didn’t choose that
Are some questions different? I read some writing ones I don’t recall… And I had writing as experimental do that’s kinda weird…

Chose profound for the mark twain different question. Anyone else?

@kdengg… yeah i chose the one w/ compromised any ideas on the other three??
profound is correct i think…

1.For the diligence one, I’m pretty sure it was quintessential and cerebral.

I chose ultimately problematic. Becuase if you looked at the passage it said something like, " This situation leads the public just becomes more and more paranoid of science." There was nothing in the paragraph to suggest cunning.

I chose profound as well. I asked my tutor about this question, and he’s pretty sure that it’s profound as well.
