Beware What You Compare: The raw score information in this section of the score report is based on the specific Writing Test you took. It should not be compared with raw-score information from different editions of the test or different question types. Scores from the SAT Subject Test in Writing and the writing section on the SAT Reasoning Test are not comparable.

What does THAT mean? So are SAT I Writing scores really used by colleges in the admissions process? I'm so hopelessly confused. Damn you, CollegeBoard!

hi everyone. just got back from a day-long training.

i just checked my scores. and...........

what??????????

a little off-topic for the moment. IHS, does that stand for Inbound Harvard Student?

Training? What kind of training? intrigued

And BANEDON!! You teaser! Get your @ss back on CC!!

Well, actually no, its I HATE S****, but as long as u mentioned Inbound Harvard Student, I'll adopt it!!:D:D

real estate training workshop. it's 6 days long starting last friday. and i think this page grew...um....5 pages since morning. that's sad.

Good Lord, banedon! Stop being off-track.

And it is not sad. You're just peeved we talked on without you. grins

But you could give us your scores and then we'll congratulate you and try to make up for it. :D

I dunno how "international" I am compared to you guys (I'm from Canada)...

800 CR
760 M
710 W

I'm real ****ed about the Writing--I had a 71/9 split on it. That essay topic was so stupid; I spewed out a page-and-a-half of garbage because I didn't know what to write.

..well...i don't know how to describe my scores.

to be frank, i feel indifferent towards tehm. nothing to shout about, nothing to whine about. i got a a little higher than i hoped, but not that great to warrant screaming and champagne.

i was aiming for a 2100. i got 2150. not high, but quite good enough for me considering that with my medical condition, i managed 4 straight hours an exam and didn't even bother with those accomodation thingies.

jpps - Anybody's welcome AND wow, your scores are damn impressive. I don't understand what you're talking about with the 71/9 split, though. What was the topic for the essay?

banedon - Medical condition? worried Well, I'm glad you managed it! Yay! THAT should be worth screaming and champagne! And strawberries, too. (Pretty Woman, anyone?) Good total, btw. I hope UChicago deems you and your whole app as "Yes! We want banedon to liven up our community and contribute! We want to teach him! We want him!"

(Sorry. Just a little at odds right now.)

Izzy--I'm especially happy with my scores considering that they're a huge improvement over the last two times I took the SATs (730v/690m the first time and 720/650 the second).

For the 71/9 split, I mean that out of the 20-80 multiple-choice scale on writing, I got a 71, and my essay got a grade of 9.

The gist of the essay topic was: "Do you think people aren't private enough these days?"

my essay was 11! and i just realised what this means!

but overeall, my scores were just 30 points lower from every section from the last year. no big difference.

Sounds like an interesting essay... (did SAT II). But 25 minutes I think is a cramped time. It's just so...I did the TOEFL and we had to write an essay in 30 minutes, but I did it over the computer so I think that's unfair since most people type faster than they write AND it's easy to go back and rewrite entire paragraphs.

9 is higher than what I got on the essay in May. :)

BAnedon - wooooh! Congrats. That is DAMN high!

jpps: i had a 71/9 split in my june SAT too! 3 wrong, no omits. 710. a little harsh i think :(. but ur CR scores are way higher!

i thought i did faily well on my TOEFL essay but i believe it was shorter than the ppl correcting would have liked! but i'm satisfied. TOEFL is not THAT big a factor.

TOEFL is peas.

i thought the essay this time was rather dull and i felt like the example i had to use were more subjective than objective...so jpps u had 9 wrong on the WRT and u got a 710?

TOEFL is DAMN easy. It's...yeah...peas...
