Penn's ED applicants increased 21% this year and number of Penn engg ED applicants increased 46%!!!

WOW... well with the exception of Harvard everywhere got more ED/EA apps this year. We'll have to wait and see just how this will affect us.

Chances are competition will be much harder.

Good luck anyhow

Penn apparently got more EDers than Columbia or EAers at Harvard. dunno abt other places. they haven't released their data yet!

Hiddink sucks, just a man with a big ego and had lots of luck with Skorea
Advocaat sucks, he left the Arabian Emirates national team, because he could earn more money in Skorea.

Klinsmann RuleZz tha best coach ever!!! Germany all the way!!

penn has had more applicants indeed, but penn's admission percetage was 20.8 for last year compared to 15% at Brown. :(

may be it's because penn makes it pretty clear that applying early to penn puts a student at an advantage while most other schools deny or really don't put ED applicants at an advantage

how's penn with finaid, btw? i wasn't planning on applying to any ivies but my mum's asking me to try out a few - so i was thinking of applying RD to brown, penn and umm... dartmouth?

don't think i'm good enough tho :D but ah well.

the number I gave were for all appliants. not only for ED ones. you should definetely apply to dartmouth. it's not tougher to get in compared to penn and maybe even to brown. dunno. have you thought about columbia? I'm not applying there because of their strong core. I'm for the no core curriculum at Brown :D! I was also thinking about applying RD to dartmouth. dunno about other Ivies.... my list is pretty long and I need to shorten it.

you shouldn't think you're not good enough for a univ. you should definetely try your luck ;) I'm doing that with Brown. and I am still hoping. :)

I think it's really hard to get in ,
if u r applying to Wharton not The College

thanks lakhsmi, i'm not really too keen about the ivies actually - small liberal arts colleges hold more of an appeal for me but yes, as you said, i should just try my luck, what's the harm, after all? :) and the no core currriculum thing is another reason why i love vassar :D so we have that common there :D

oh and i meant that to guess why the number of ED applicants has increased so much at penn :D

penn's wharton has a far lower admit rate. but because penn has college, engg and nursing divisions as well which have higher admit rates, the rate is in the 20s.

Nov Sat Results Are Out Today!!!

May god bring :):) on your face after u see ur SAT results!

I don't really want to see them. I'm just looking forward to my Dec SAT I

I instead really wanna see them. they're my last sat scores[ uhm... hopefully?]. and I really wish i got some improvement. I'm counting on it. although I don't think my CR score is going to be much higher. I would be happy with a 20p increase, but, oh well, you never know.

You all will do fine. Gettin' above 500 in the sections, that considered good. (GOD I'M COLD. IT SNOWED (briefly) here in Bucharest. And my school's all the way stuck out near the forest!!) I'm sure you all will rock, and rock hard!

Now I'm wondering if I should sign up for Jan SAT...

I like the way your : mad : smiley turned into a smile:)

Diana, even if your score hasn't improved, it won't be a problem. Brown only considers SAT's, right? Then the SATs are not as important for them as for most of the other colleges. But I'm sure you did fine. We all believe in you;)

SAT RESULTS ARE OUT!!!
i got 800 for chinese...which is weird...cuz i know i got one wrong (and usually they take like 40 pts off for one wrong)
