I am in india. How much is the cost? Can I register online? How long does it take for scores to reach the US? Can I check my scores online like everyone else in the US? I am in Bombay, India and Iw ould like to know how I can get register to the nearest test center and find out all this info.
I guess I am frantic because I will be in India during the time of the SAT and I actuall am from the US and I know that almost every high school is a test center for the SAT and thus its sooo much easier registering. Can someone give me some outlook and advice on this conflict?

The college board website has all the information for international administrations of the SAT. As long as you have internet access and a credit card, you can do everything on line. Some deadlines may be different and there seems to be one test date that's not available internationally (it was the March one this year), otherwise, exactly the same as the US.

It's almost the same as in the US. There is an additional international fee. And yes you can check your scores online, but you have to match the time to the US, figure out what it is your time when the scores come out.

theres an extra 20 (ish) dollars international processing fee. and on top of that another $20 for india/pakistan (an easy moneymaker for the collegeboard I guess, since so many apply from there).

Mumbai 63-108 Sir J.J. Girls High School
Mumbai 63-107 Teachers' Training School

are the only test centres I can find in bombay but theres probably more, look on college board (go to register online.. etc, even if you don't end up paying online). and I remember hearing that you can only use your passport for ID in india? (ie not a drivers licence or anything), I dunno if this is true
