International SAT-Writing Section December 1st 2012 Discussion

Hello guys :)

Lets talk about the writing section.

What did you write for 2nd writing section in 2nd question before the last?

I got 3 no errors… and controversial ones were with colon one or semicolon. ( I put colon)
also, to attempt blah blah a journalist will

yup i wrote
of attempting

which is right i wonder? :(

what about placing a sentence in paragraph?
i wrote as the last sentence in 1st paragraph

hmm I didnt choose of attempting… I put something starting with to attempt. so E

Could anyone tell which is right? :S

I chose Attempt to

Does any remember the answer of the 14th question of Section 10?

Guys what did you write in the essay section? Did you support the claim or opposed it? I opposed it…>>“Nowadays people are less focused on invention or creation” Wbu guys?

i supported and wrote about Google maps and Amazon kindle as new discoveries and approaches …idk if a good idea

@Kristiuna Yeah that’s a good idea too. I also gave a example on present China and iphone 5 on opposing these.

richardparker , I choose it a also ,

I think the journalists one was E simply because attempt of is an idiom error, attempt to is correct. And the E option if i recall correctly, was grammatically correct.

@richardparker- I put A for that one,not sure though…it’a either E or A though would be removed sounded wrong to me…

Did you guys fill up the whole 2 pages? i had like 4-5 lines remaining…I wrote about space exploration and how science fiction is soon to become reality with good experimental examples…hope I get 10 at least

“is removed”
the next part is “before next student arrives” - the only correct answer

Does anyone remember the answer of the last question of section 10?

I left 1.5 lines only.

At first i circled E but when it was 10 seconds remaining i found out that of attempting was better…Idk i may be wrong

1)What did you guys choose for the Hungary sentence with colon? It was like in Hungary his perfomance is still famous. I left it as it was.

2) Regarding the Soap Opera, did you place the sentence as it is? or moved to sentence 7?

3) Also, there was one correcting sentence in soap opera that confused me. The two choices were: earlier, in the 19xx, (someone’s name), (description), developed soap opera. The other one was: soap opera was developed by (someone’s name), (description) in 19xx. I thought Collegeboard likes active voice and tried to choose the first one. However, thought there were too many commas and chose the second one.

4) Last but not least, in section 10, there was a question like hoping the debris is cleaned before a student comes next week. What did you choose for this one? Again, I left as it was.

1)A is correct…colon is fine.

2)Moved it

3)It was not A…D part i think

4)A

@Derp1996 For number 3, what do you mean by D? The second war with passive voice?
