I live in America, but I'm considering applying for Cambridge. What kind of scores do they look for?

- its very hard to get into, especially for science. While they say "at least 1300 SAT" (thats what stanford say too - yeah right), to have a realistic chance you need min. around 1500 SAT, and all fives in the APs. But the academic interview is what determines whether you get in - you get tested in three 40 min interviews by academics. What subject do you want to apply for? Thats pretty important too.

That's the old SATs right? What's the scored required for the new SATs ? I'm considering medicine, arts, or science.

yes old sat. scale it up for the new one - ca. 2250. this is not "required", just what i think will be a score that gives you a fair chance to get in. depends on other factors too, especially how well you do in interview.

The easiest way to get into British Universities from the US, is to have IB/AP scores. The real reality is that you can't get in until you have your results. British Universities, especially highly ranked ones such as Cambridge, simply get too many qualified A-level applicants to even consider you if you can't offer APs/IB. For APs, you would probably need to have taken at least 5, and passed with 4s and 5s to get into Cambridge. They are a bit more familiar with IB, and the points you need for your course will be on the universities website. For Cambridge, this number will be between 38-40, not including TOK/Extended essay points. They aren't very receptive to SAT scores in Britian, but they will take them if that is all you can offer. Sargon is right, for Cambridge - you will have to interview, there simply is no way around it. And the Cambridge interviews are mean, I have a senior friend who applied for languages, and they mixed the languages she knew: Italian, French, Spanish and German to create a new language, gave her thirty minutes and told to translate the document and get back to them. She was almost in tears. I don't tell you this to scare you, only to make sure that you're prepared. You also could check out some other British Universities that are excellent but do not require an interview such as St. Andrews, King's College or University College of London.
