International Stanford Student? Please Help ASAP

If you are an international who is applying to or got into Stanford, PLEASE help a friend out! I am stuck on "International Certification of Finances". It doesn't make sense to me. If you have gone through the process and got a student vida then you can help me. Deadline in 2 days!!!

What is the purpose of this form?
Why am I supposed to show the US embassy that I can fund myself when actually I can't and I'm requesting for aid?

If I am poor, can I write very low figures like "$500" per year from savings or leave it blank or put $0?
I am applying for need-based scholarship and IF I get admitted then Stanford has to give me full ride scholarship because my family's income is too low. I am proving this using College Board's CSS Profile.
I guess Stanford is supposed to attach another form (I-20 or something) to my Certification of Finances. In THEIR form they will state that they are funding my studies.
The US embassy will see both the forms at the time of the issue of my student visa.

Am I right?

I think this is just how much support outside of tuition your family can provide from savings. You can also list a sponsor who might provide money for your expenses if you have any. After admission they’ll forward this to the embassy who will contact your bank to make sure your savings are sufficient enough to provide additional expenses.

you can put whatever amount your family can provide be it 0$ or 2500$. They’ll decide upon your financial need based on your CSS profile. So yes you are correct.

Also have you gotten an IDOC request in an email to send out copies of your tax forms and parents’ income statement?

@AnonCanon Thanks for helping :)

my parent is retired and lives off government pensions. In our country he is not taxed because of this. He is not required to tax as the income is below the exemption limit too.

I have not received an email about that. Do they normally email this?

As Stanford is need-aware for internationals and I already showed them that my family can’t afford this in the CSS Profile, will what I write in this form interfere admission decisions?
Can a certification of finances which is filled with low figures like “$800” or $0 be the cause of a student visa rejection in case I DO get accepted and get aid?

No problem.
Well i think eventually but maybe after matriculation. Normally the university asks you through collegeboard and you have to send the documents if you’re required to.

does applying for financial aid at Stanford as an international student hurt your chances of admission ? and when you do not have to worry ? maybe good scores ?

^^ Yes, applying for financial aid as an international student will hurt your chances. ALL those who are accepted have excellent scores, excellent grades and often significant accomplishments outside the classroom: academic awards, olympiads, etc. Everyone who applies has “to worry.” It’s one of the most difficult universities to get into, period.
