International Status (Canadian) Helpful or Harmful?

I'm a Canadian citizen living and studying in a U.S. high school. I'm assuming I would be put into the internatonal pool, so would I have a better chance at getting into certain Ivy League Colleges (UPenn, Columbia, Brown, Cornell) or would my chances actually be lower? I know these colleges are need-blind for Canadians, so the fact that I asked for finaid should not be a factor. What do you guys think?

Lower all the way for all the colleges.

The fact that you're an international would probably lower your chances, but as a Canadian, your chances are still slightly better than other internationals (largely due to the need-blind policy)

I think that depends i am from Argentina and even though having low CR and W Sat's grades I got into many top colleges like uchicago Duke johns hopkins etc even waitlist at MIT
sat 2030 cr 630 w 630 m780
sat2 Math2 740 physics 760 chem 760 span 800
Ib and other good things

so well... latin american do have some advantage after all...

I'm in the situation as you. It probably is easier for you to get into an Ivy. For example, I got waitlisted at UPenn but got rejected from Johns Hopkins (which should be less competitive than UPenn). What stinks about going to school in the US is that they compare you to not only US applicants but also Canadian ones.

arggg, you said it..IB and other good things.
