Hi,
I've just been accepted to Lafayette college under the ED program. They've not told me how much aid I'm gonna receive. However, they've told me that they're commited to meet my need. Can I trust them? Is it OK if I don't apply to other colleges and sit back and start njoyin my senior year?

there are some school quite little late in giving financial aid decision to applied student for some reasons:
They are very competitive one and they need more time to have deep consideration before allocating the money.
They only consider financial aid at a particular time after looking at the application.
They probably have a low endowment!

can international students also use the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE from collegeboard? I don't get how everything works...do you also need to fill out the international student financial form thing from collegeboard as well, or is that the only thing you need to do??

Normally schools that provide financial aid to international students will ask for the following: International Student Financial Aid Application and International Financial Aid Certification.

I am from Nepal.

I want to study Fashion Merchandising in New York either in FIT Parsons or other but Im interested in knowing what kind of financial aid I could get either as an International Student (since I am from Colombia) or as a US citizen, which I also am. It would be of a big help if any of you could help me out with this!

You need to email the international students offices at the schools that you are interested in and get their help with this. As a US citizen you are eligible for federal financial aid (including loans) but the paperwork won't be straight forward because you and your family may not have income that is easy to fit into the standard financial aid applications. You should also check around in the bi-national community in Colombia to find out what organization(s) exist to help students there get into colleges and universities in the US. In Venezuela, the organization is the AVAA with the main office in Caracas (www.avaa.org). They may be able to help you find the right organization in Colombia.

Good Luck!

Try this link: http://www.colomboamericano.org/info_english.htm

Someone at the Colombian American Center should be able to help you out.

And for the rest of you international students, if you google "binational center YOURCOUNTRY" you should hit on a list of links to the US-YOURCOUNTRY binational information center in the country of question. This is where you should start your US college hunt as the staff there is up-to-date on any specific US-YOURCOUNTRY issues.

within all the colledge that can provide aid to international students,
is there an art collegde?
if there is, about how much?
