I just have a quick question. What happens if you are an international student at a US university and you want to study abroad in a foreign country? What fees do you end up paying? Do you have to pay your already very expensive tuition fees at your home (US) school while at your foreign school?

It depends on the study-abroad policy of the college you are attending.

My college asks all study-abroad candidates to pay full college tuition and then pays the foreign university’s fees on behalf of the student (and pockets the difference, of course). Some other colleges ask students to pay all costs associated to their study abroad program themselves, but do not charge tuition while the student is abroad.
