Long post, bear with me:
Bulgarian, am in my last year BEFORE application (11th year / 12) so I roughly have a year left.
Goals(ridiculously high but that’s why I am posting this): BACHELORS @ Stanford, MIT, Cambridge, Oxford, Caltech, Berkeley
Desired Speciality: Computer Science - AI/Machine Learning/Cyber Security/Software Development/Cryptology
GPA: So I didn’t find exactly a calculator for this but atm I am rocking straight A’s (6.00 in Bulgarian system) except for a B(5.00) in Biology in my year 9. I guess that would translate to a 3.9/4 GPA. Classes here are mandatory and there aren’t any additional to be selected. I am in the Maths High School and I take Maths 9 classes a week.
Enrolled in Maths Advanced Classes (for 7th year) and up until last year Advanced Physics (3 years). Through these I have participated in a whole lot of international, national, regional competitions (both Physics and Maths), HOWEVER, no particularly big prizes won :(. In the 3 international Maths Competitions I’ve been to I have 3 Merit Medals (falls short behind Bronze). This is not a CV and I don’t know if I should list any prizes from these competitions as I have participated in a LOT of them (since I was 11).
In my year 9 I started taking programming classes at the local university (BFU) in C# (1 year) and ASP.NET(5months). I am still taking ASP.NET classes.
Participated in a regional Hackathon back in year 9 and won a prize for Best Young Developer.
Fluent in English (A CAE, yet to take SAT, Toefl after I decide whether I am worth a shot in the above mentioned universities //need your help for that), German limited to working proficiency , studying Russian in school - 2 classes/week.
Extracurricular:
I participate in a local Interact club (daughter club of Rotary) for a couple of months now and have already participated in a major regional project and also minor volunteering work. Hope I continue this throughout this year.
Part-time job last summer for a month - waiter (I know it’s not connected to interests and I wonder if it matters - you tell me)
I have trained Basketball since I was probably 7 years old although after I got into High School I stopped and started again last year. This results in no actual basketball competitions that I have participated in so I wonder if that matter as well.
IMPORTANT: As I come from a 2nd world country, my family is nowhere near wealthy enough to pay tuitions. I would estimate that my parents earn about $14k a year. Their expected contribution towards tuition could fairly be set to 0 as I expect them to support me in my student life expenses which would not be low (for us) by any means. This means I would apply for a FULL tuition grant (as an international student, yeah…) and if you happen to know any scholarships that can support me, you’re welcome to share. The worst grant I can cope with is perhaps 90% of the full tuition (and I don’t know if these are applied for by asking for a FULL tuition). I am the only child in the family. So any chances you estimate for me need to have all that considered.
I have never had an objective opinion on my improvised “CV” and I would love to hear feedback from the experienced people that are here. I welcome critical answers and if you believe I am not qualified for the above mentioned universities, please tell me. Also, what I very want to hear are suggestions about what I should start doing now (perhaps today even) if I am eligible for any of these, as my time is running low.
Thank you in advance for any help you provide.
TL;DR: Bulgarian, Bachelors@Stanford, MIT, Oxbridge, Caltech, Berkeley, CS, year 11, 3.9 GPA, no SAT yet, competitor in Mathematics, need a full tuition or I am out (less than $65k family earnings.)
PS. Sry, for mistakes and typos, it’s late night and no time to go back and check for them.
