International Student Chance?

I am just curious, I am a Canadian student
and I am probably going to go to a Canadian university like Alberta or McGill,
so my stats like SATs and ECs are pretty low, but I was wondering if I had ANY chance at any of the following schools:
Stanford, HYP, Cornell, JHU, Darthmouth, Duke, Berkeley, Chicago, Northwestern, Brown

GPA/Ranking: school doesn't have GPA nor Ranking... in grade 11 my average grade was 94.8%.
Doing IB diploma, finished IB SL Bio and IB SL Math (7 in both)
Grade 12 course:
IB English (HL), IB Geography (HL), IB Chemistry (HL), IB AB Japanese, IB Physics (SL or HL...I am not sure yet), Senior Jazz Band, TOK

SAT I: Math 800, Reading 690 (ugh..), Writing 720 (essay 9..ugh...) = 2210
I didn't really study for the SATs... so I didn't do that well...I will retake.
SAT II: Korean 800, Math IIC 800, Bio (will take..expecting 700+).

Nationality: Canadian, but Asian.
EC: How do people include more than 6 activities on the commonapp? I will just put what I will put in the commonapp.

Grade 11,12: Established International Group for my community to help recent international or immigrant students adjust to the new life..I was in a local Korean newspaper
Grade 8 - 12: Part of CCM band at my church, played main bass guitar and synthesizer. Also led children's Sunday programs.
Grade 8 - 11: Club soccer. In grade 9 - 10, I was in the most competitive club regional team (metro team), but I don't think it would count for much.
Grade 9-11: varsity tennis, played some club tennis as well.. ranked 100 something in the province...but again, I don't think it would count for much lol
Duke of Edinburgh: Gold Award Qualification.
Grade 9-10: Volunteered with Canadian Blood Services...over 150 hours volunteer
Grade 11: Peer helper

Work experience:
Summer intern for a local church: Did office works like accounting, led Sunday programs for children, carried out projects like interviweing people and posting their stories on website, 35 hours/week.
Worked as a janitor for a maintenance company: it's just a cleaning job...3hrs/week
Tutored tennis, English, ESL

Awards:( I seriuosly lack in this area..)
just honor rolls... some subject awards like math, business, English, socials...distinction award for math contests...

I am going for 'make or break it' since Canadian universities base their admission decisions on the grades only..
I will have to apply for financial aid/scholarship, so I pretty much have to apply to top schools like HYP...I know that I will get rejected by most of those colleges..(seeing that most of CCers stats are abosolutely amazing..lol), but I was wondering if I even had a slight chance?

By the way, does anyone know any schools other than those listed that offer generous financial aid to International Students?

Thx in advance.

bump? anyone?

bbuummpp....

Hopefully not Asian male.

I don't see anything special.

Financial aid as an international will dramatically reduce your chances.

Stanford: REJECT
HYP: REJECT
Cornell: REJECT
JHU: REJECT
Darthmouth:REJECT
Duke: REJECT
Berkeley: REJECT
Chicago: REJECT
Northwestern: REJECT
Brown: REJECT

Lol, I am an Asian male.
Thx for reply.

I know that most likely I will be rejected by all of them, but is it that bad? I better not apply to too many then, lol

How do people include more than 6 ECs in commonapp?

Come on Gaffe...he's not going to be rejected everywhere. i think you'll be waitlisted at a few places and if lucky, get in 1 or 2 :)

He still has Alberta and McGill, were I'm sure he'll get in.

Hey, nice to meet you. I am Korean as well and I also studied in Canada for high school. Unfortunately for me, I wasn't a landed immigrant in Canada like you, so I was considered South Korean when I applied. Luckily, I got accepted to Princeton, so I will be entering Princeton this fall with financial aid.

Well first of all, many colleges see Canadian students as domestic students, meaning that your need for financial aid will not affect their admission decision. You probably aren't even really considered an international. You are extremely lucky in that regard :)

Your school average seems pretty good. What was your rank? Also, is your school known for sending students to top US colleges?

Your SAT scores are alright, but try to get the SAT 2250+. Also, if you were born in Korea and had lived in Korea for quite a while before you moved to Canada, that Korean SAT II score won't do anything for you. So you better take more SAT tests to send to colleges.

Your EC's are pretty average (maybe slightly below average). They won't help your chances.

Personally, I'd say

Stanford - high reach
Harvard - high reach
Yale - high reach
Princeton - high reach
Cornell - match / low reach
JHU - match / low reach
Darthmouth - reach
Duke - low reach
Berkeley - reach
Chicago - low reach
Northwestern - match
Brown - match / low reach
