International Student Chances for American Business Schools (Will chance back)

I’m Canadian (international student, Asian)
I just entered by senior year.
Because I am in Canada, I don’t have a GPA. Instead, I will tell you my averages for each year:
Grade 9: 85%
Grade 10: 88%
Grade 11: 93%
Grade 12: 96.4% (I am projecting this based on grade 12 courses I completed so far)
My grade 9 and 10 averages are low because at that time, I wasn’t considering going to the United States. (In Canada, only grade 11 and 12 marks count)
Also, there were just some classes in grade 9 and 10 that I found no interest in, for example, French (Not trying to come up with excuses).
Generally, my math, English and science marks are very high, while my marks for courses such as gym and music are bringing my average down.

SATs: 2300
AP:
Calc AB (5)
Stats (5)
(I took these to APs in advanced. Only two at my school except sciences which I did not take)
I took a lot of honor classes
My grades have been in an upward trend (only one B in grade 11 and 12 courses, rest are A’s)

ECs:
Math Club
DECA
Tutoring Club (I tutored fellow students)
Rugby team (All 4 years, won 2 regional championships)
Football team (3 Years because I couldn’t play one year due to injuries)
(Won numerous awards through out ECs)
Won 2 math awards, a literature award
Volunteered over 100 hrs at camps, YMCA, charities, Church youth events

School is ranked 7th in my region (out of 255)
My school will not tell me my class rank

I have great essays and recommendation letters from my favorite teachers.
I also won an internship opportunity in the field of finance ran by investment bankers in the US. (They’ll also write me recommendation letters).

Schools:
New York (Stern) <----- Stern is my dream school because I want to major in finance and live/work in NY.
Georgetown (McDonough)

Pennsylvania (Wharton) (I know I have no chance)

Notre Dame (Mendoza)

Cornell (Dyson)
Boston University

Emory (Goizueta)

Boston College (Carroll)
Michigan (Ross)
If you have any suggestions for other schools please let me know.

(Don’t mind about how expensive US Schools are, I know how much they cost but I am able to afford them without aid.)

If you need any other information, please let me know.

Thank you.

What province are you in? Since the grading scales are different depending on province, if in Ontario, that’s impressive but if in Saskatchewan, less so.
Your list is all-reaches due to selectivity. Do you have Canadian safeties?
You’re competitive for all of them. As a full-pay international student, your odds are likely one in ten to one in five.
I would add a couple others, such as Indiana Kelley, Ohio Farmer, Penn State Smeal, Fordham Lincoln Center, and Baruch.

You know those schools are very competitive and are reaches for most applicants. It is even harder to chance an international student. Your GPA is a bit weak due to your 9-10th grades. Otherwise, you are in the range for these schools, just their admission rates are low.

Im from ontario. Can anyone else chance me please?

Your chances depend on how competitive your application is (= it is) but also on acceptance rate (and there, all the schools on your list become automatic reaches.) There’s not much more “chancing” that can be done when selectivity is that high.

Anyone else? Ill take as many replies as I can get.

US schools will look at grades 9-12. while an upward trend will help the lower marks in grades 9 and 10 will hurt a lot at the most elite schools:

Ok so please chance me @TomSrOfBoston.

If you can add colleges with 30-50% acceptance rates, people will start chancing you again, but when all the schools on your list are in the same unpredictable bracket, there’s not much people can do.

You can also read #9 again.

its been a while bump

You need to add more colleges (with higher acceptance rates) to get more chances. Right now there’s nothing to add to the chances you’ve already gotten. Add a couple more colleges and you’ll get more chances.
