International Student financial aid question!!

I currently live in India and am a junior and I have a bit of a weird question. I'll be applying as an international student when the time comes, but I am an American citizen; will I be eligible for financial aid from the federal govt?

If you are an American citizen you are able to receive U.S. federally funded need based aid if you qualify. You will need to complete the financial aid forms converting your parents’ and your incomes and assets into U.S. dollars.

You will **not **be applying as an int’l student. You’re a US citizen. Citizens are not “int’ls”…no matter where they live.

I think this student will be applying as a U.S. citizen…but their application for admission could very well be considered alongside the international students. That is what was the case with the students we know.

HOWEVER your application for financial aid will be considered as any other American citizen.

That will depends on what school did the student atteded overseas. There are many international schools which uses US curricurum standards, if so, the student will be consider US candidates and TOFEL is not required. OTOH, if the student attended a local school with local language, then it deos not matter if you are US citizen or not, you will reauire to take TOFEL and be considered in the international student pool.

FA is a different matter.

What is the procedure ij applying fro a grant as an international student seeking to study in the us

aedennis…you would need to check the requirements for that particular grant to determine if international students are eligible. If they are…the procedure for applying would be noted as well.

aedennis…

Not sure what you’re asking.

Int’ls usually apply to SCHOOLS that are known to give grants to internationals.
