So i got accepted at Georgia tech (biomedical engineering), Purdue (biomed engineering), NYU Poly (biomolecular engineering)
Right now i'm considering georgia tech and nyu. As for financial aid, I only have federal loans at georgia tech and a 14000usd/yr scholarship at nyu which evens it out to about the same amount per year at both schools. (around 44000/yr)
I like georgia tech because it is more well known in the field and it has a joint program with emory. but i dont know what atlanta is like.
But i also like nyu because it's in new york and nyu has campuses all around the globe, but it's not as prestigious in the academic area.

However, i also got into some of the top schools in my country and the entire cost of going to college for four years here is less than going to the US for one year. I might be able to apply for exchange student and go abroad, but i think it's still quite different from actually studying abroad.
Technically, my parents would be able to pay my tuition in the US, but i dont know if it's worth it.

I would go to Georgia Tech if I were you. Looks amazing . I am an International student as well but my country’s top schools don’t stand a chance infront of Georgia Tech . It will be expensive but it’ll be a good investment Where you from btw ? And I hope you don’t mind tellling me how were your stats on the application ( SATs and other stuff) .? I dream of going to G tech .Anyway best of luck

If you’re really very interested in your field, go for GaTech. Its worth the money.

@PuzzledPimp I’m from Taiwan, and you?
GPA: 3.47 (my school is one of the top in our country and the highest GPA in our class is 3.52)
Sat: 2220 (m800 cr720 w700)
Sat II: math2 800 bioM 800 phy770
Ec: mun club founder/president, attended multiple muns, lots of sports (especially track), some science competitions, lots of volunteer

My parents kinda want me to stay in Taiwan for college, and then go abroad for graduate school. The schools I got into in my country are definitely not of Georgia tech caliber, but I’m wondering how much better it would be to attend georgia tech. What I mean is, college is more like getting the basics right? And graduate school is or even getting a phd is when you really get to do in depth research. So I’m wondering if I should listen to my parents and wait till graduate school to go to the US. In the meantime, I might be able to apply for exchange student or summer programs in the us or Europe. Still considering my different options tho.

@onmywa111 I am from Egypt , I go to an Indian School in the Gulf ( It’s complicated) . Well I topped my class ever since 5th grade. We don’t have GPA but I got 92.2 % overall in 11th grade.
