international student in non-degree admission?

Hello guys. First post here.

I have searched the forum and internet but I am still confused.

I'm Canadian graduated from Univertsity of Toronto.
My GPA in my final 60 semister units is 2.75 (it can easily be bumped to 3.25 had I taken just 12 more units, but I'm travelling in Europe now so it's impossible).

Anyway, can anyone this question for me?

Can one apply for non-degree admission, taken a few courses, and transfer to a degree program?

If yes, the next question is, will the school apply the student visa for me?

I'd really appreciate anyone who can answer it.

cheers~

Yes, many universities have this option.

It depends on the university. In some cases not all of your courses will transfer.

I would guess not for non-degree registration but you'll want to contact the universities you are interested in. If you are taking a limited number of courses (less than 18 hours a week) it is possible you could do it on a visitor visa - check with a consulate for details.
