International Student-Liberal Arts

I’m an international student with a SAT superscore of 1880 and TOEFL 113. Average Extra Curriculars. giving the ACT soon but would just about hit 30 max. What are my chances for an admission in Amherst, Smith, Vassar, Wellesley?.

Also, in our marking system- I have an 87% in 11th grade and a 95% in 10th grade. 12th grade mid terms should be above 80%.

Well assuming that you’re a girl because of Wellesley, your chances at liberal art schools are extremely low unless you have some hook. Girls tend to have a lower acceptance rate at liberal art schools and your score’s aren’t exactly perfect. Whether you get in or not for all of them depends on your extracurriculars, essays, and rec letters probably.

You need to look at lower ranked liberal arts schools, for example, #30 to #60 on the US News List. Fortunately for you, many of these schools are test optional. There is a list of them on the Fairtest website. Good luck.

I don’t have the option of looking at lower ranked colleges because I’m an international student and its really too expensive for me…so it’s a kind of like “the best or nothing” so it’s kind of a gamble for me
Anything suggestions ?

^ Your best bet is to stay in your home country, go to the best local university you can and do very, very well. That may open up some excellent US graduate school options. Good luck.

There are lower schools willing to give you aid

Thanks for the suggestions.
Let’s see how it goes…as of now, I have to apply to a few colleges.
Will keep y’all updated!

Add Mount Holyoke to your list. They are less selective and give both financial aid and merit aid. They have a large international representation. Their deadline is Jan 15th, so you still have time.

@Akqj10 thank so for the advice. I have done so. Got into the Liberal Arts school of UIUC so I’m kind of glad about that
