International student, need aid, help me choose college!!

Hi,

I have applied to too many dream schools and I need to apply to some matches or high matches. ( I have already been accepted by my safety and I'll be more than happy to go there by the way. )

So about me -

I am an International Applicant

Need considerable financial aid ( Can afford $5000 a year at the most )

SAT Scores - 2150 ( M 700, CR 730, W 720 )

GPA - Very good

ECs - https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B7Ef0RM0dDshbjJFMnhFYjNPVVk

I have 4 slots left in my Common App but I have more than 4 choices; the choices are :-

Franklin and Marshall College
St. Olafs College
Dickinson College
Lafayette College
St. Lawrence University
Trinity University
Colgate University
Connecticut College
Colorado College
Macalester College

Please help me out! The deadlines are so near.

Anyone… Please help me decide the 4 colleges, the deadlines are just round the corner.

You have less than 4 days left. Will you write 4 awesome colleges more before the deadlines? Which schools are you applying to? Consider if your schools require additional essays, it’s important with 3 days left.

What’s your situation? Are these schools supposed to be safety options?
I see that you found colleges with great financial aid for internationals - it’s good.
Maybe you should consider geography too - do you want to live in rural or urban campus, sunny Florida or idyllic New England?

Ok. Finally, I would choose: Colgate, Connecticut and Trinity, thats for sure - these are great, selective colleges in New England. Trinity doesn’t require neither supplement nor application fee - maybe it’s not the reason to choose the college, but it’s an advantage, for sure.

I will submit the already completed Common Applications to these colleges and most of them do not have really different additional essay.

Isn’t Colgate and Connecticut to selective if I consider my FA status. I need ‘Matches’ not near ‘Reaches’

I have already applied to Trinity College; the college in my above list is Trinity University, another University which promises to meet the 100% demonstrated need of Internationals!

I have zeroed in on :-

St. Olaf College
St. Lawrence University
Lafayette College
Trinity University / Franklin and Marshall

Do these colleges suite my profile, Do I have a reasonable shot in getting accepted by them?

Ok, sorry, didn’t see that.

Even if institution meets 100% of demonstrated need it doesn’t mean that it will admit you. All of them are need-sensitive colleges, since there are only 7 need-blind schools (yes, I include NYUAD as the American one), and asking for financial aid is a big disadvantage. But I don’t want to discourage you, we’re on the same boat ;)

First of all, ask yourself if a particular college suits you and you would be happy there if admitted. I applied to only one safety college since I’d rather stay in my home country than go to US and go to an average school.

Since admissions are holistic, you never know if you’ll get the admittance letter. All you can do is to look:

Just out of curiosity, how many colleges are you applying to?

Thanks mate, your document helped me decide the four - St. Olaf, St. Lawrence, Lafayette, Franklin and Marshall

I have already applied to 16 - Harvard, Columbia, Amherst, Yale, Williams, U Richmond, Rhodes, Trinity, Skidmore, Swarthmore, Colby, Hamilton, Duke, U Chicago, Dartmouth, Cornell

Safeties - ULM, McNeese, Troy
