Er, I'm also an A-level student but finishing it last year already. Which school are you in now? I used to be at Cambridge Tutors College, Croydon Surrey :D

You'll have to do a lot of research.. but basically, follow whatever's said on the school's website. Most of them have a 'international student checklist' kinda thing. This forum is mighty useful as well!

im studying at Hillsyde Consortium in S.E london. my A2 endz in july- thats when i should be getting my results bk. the fees for the Univ that i would prefer aren about $12,000 per term & my parents arent really willing to pay that much. ive heard about grants and aids but i dont know where to start... ??? thnx 4the website. is anyone a uk student whose already transferred and can give me a little help or anyone with any futher info... will be much appreciated

well, you don't have to choose schools by their cost. Most of us here can't afford that much. First, visit the school's website (I recommend use the list in USNews, you don't have to know what school it is, you'll know later :D). Go to the international students section, then the scholarship and financial aid, or you go to the financial aid office and search info. for international students. You'll know if you qualify for any scholarships listed and if the school offer need-based financial aid. And with all the overwhelming info, start compare the aid, the school's prestige....
And here are what you should do now: get best grades and a high rank (top 10% recommended) at school, take up some activities (school or community) and try to get a leadership position.
