Although U.S. claims to offer no aid or scholarships to international students, I have heard that some international students do receive aid of up to 20k from UCLA.

Is it possible for an international student to apply for aid??????????

How does that effect chances?????
Is there any sort of aid available??????

Where are you “hearing it from?”
UCLA doesn’t give any aid to international students. You can only try to get private scholarships along the way or get aid from your own country. If you want aid from college, you should try private universities…or some select few universities that explicitly say they offer aid for internationals…

International students are not eligible for federal or state financial aid. You may apply for outside scholarships (which may be disbursed through the UCLA financial aid office, thus creating the illusion that UCLA forked out the money) but those are scarce. Generally your best bet is to apply for “study abroad” scholarships from your native country.

Yeah, I thought about study “abroad” to my native country, but from what people have told me, you pretty much pay the same quarterly tuition since the “scholarship” is nothing compared to the $10k+ we pay…
