In my country, school year starts in February and ends in late November. I'm planning on having all my college application papers sent in early November or even earlier to colleges in the U.S. The problem is the following: Letters and mails of approval only arrive in early April, so if I'm not accepted in american colleges, I will have wasted 6 months, because if I enroll on college here, I would have to start in February, so here is my question: Can I apply for US colleges in the end of my senior year (November), engage in college in my country waiting for american approval letters, that arrive in April, and if I'm approved, I drop college here in June, and engage in american colleges and yet not be considered a transfer student?

It depends on the college. Some colleges consider you a transfer student with as little as 1 post-HS college class, others have credit or time limits. You need to go to the college websites and read their definitions for fr and transfer applicants, there is no single answer.

The fact that you drop the class without finishing it may still count as taking the course, just that you ended up with a W for the class, rather than a grade.

Thanks for answering entomom, I guess the only way is carefully reading each college site for which I want to apply.
