International student sat score

I am an international student preparing for university in US
I am wondering what my sat I score need to be if i want to go to pretty good
public university like U of wisconsin, ohio state, penn state, u of washing and etc.
Doesnt international students usally have to get higher score than US students??

No, you don’t really need to be smarter than American applicants ,but most pretty good schools want to see your outstanding from your local high school and your ECs. And they will usually expect you to get 800 or closed to 800 on Math section and subject tests. Eventually, a lots of my friends who come from top public high school in their nation would never loose 800 from Math and SAT II. If you come from high competitive public school in your country, they will actually respect on you SAT. I can suggest you that ,if you have strong academic ,get the strong SAT scores in your high school and do your best on App. You’ll even be able to apply HYPSM also. Like my friend who got into Harvard with SAT 680-800-720 plus 800 on Chem Physic Bio Math2 , because she come from top public school in her country. Wish you all luck.

Your SAT score should probably be around 1900-2000? I’m not really sure about the publics though. In any case, you won’t have to get a higher score than US students.

@fourthy: Most schools have higher median standards for admission for International Students. This may suggest that International Students generally fall in the highest tier of applicants, or that they are subject to higher tresholds for admission.
