International student scholarships

Are there any universities in the US which offer major scholarships to international students ( merit based or need based) and are not so selective?

University of Alabama, Temple University, Howard University, …

I think if you want suggestions for your part, you should at least post your GPA and SAT/ACT. Otherwise, people may be lost as the term “selective” can be defined differently.

Univ of Alabama for large merit based.

I don’t think there are any that offer lots of need-based aid to int’ls that aren’t quite selective.

I recall a thread by a student from india who got a generous award from WPI.

@lhtanh98 ACT - 31 , Subject tests- P-790,M2-800,C-780 . Gpa 10/10 for past three years.

@GMTplus7 WPI being?

Worcester Polytechnic Institute

If you can raise your ACT score up 1 point, you’re eligible for the full-tuition scholarship from University of Alabama and the full-ride scholarship from Temple University.

However, if you’re an engineering student, you’re already eligble for the full-tuition from UA together with a $2500 stipend.

@lhtanh98 Where did you find this informaton? I want to do engineering so thats good. can you seld me a link ?

Google is your friend:

Here you are.

There ARE merit scholarships for international students for a number of schools but the only generous ones i know are UAlabama and Howard.

I would recommend UAlabama if you have to pick one because overall, it’s academically better

I just saw that Wesleyan has scholarship for Asian International students called the Freeman Scholarship. Doesn’t seem to include Indian or Mid-Eastern Students.

That one is selective

Look in the international subforum as well.

@lhtanh98 is this for intl students as well?

Yes it is. I am an international student and I got the scholarship. One of my options to go to next Fall.

@lhtanh98 what was your score? and which major did you apply to? also which country are you from?

Idk about Temple, but for UAlabama and Howard, it spells out what scores and GPA you should ahve

My SAT is 1440, GPA is 3.675 (WES converted, not a fan of it now). I’m still choosing between Economics in Art and Science school or a Business major, but I applied as an Econ major. I’m from Vietnam.
