<p>Hi all, I posted at the whats my chances section of the forum with no response so I decided to give it a shot here. I am a Singaporean student currently studying in Bellevue College with 55 credits done so far (mostly in core subjects) with a GPA of 3.97. Hopefully, as I go along, I would be able to maintain my GPA or acheive an even better result. I want to apply for a business transfer (accounting major) to universities such as u washington, richmond, umich ( brother graduated summa cum laude), uni san diego, nyu and boston college. Previously, I have tried to apply to uw, umich and richmond (probably as a transfer student) using my transcripts from singapore from the polytechnic (2.1 out of 4.0), o level's and sat result of 1870. My questions would be would this affect my chances of transfering? how would my chances be like? when is the right time to start applying for the transfer? and which information should i use when i apply to the universities?</p>
<p>For Ecs, I was in the choir in secondary school and attained a silver and bronze in the national competition. Also, the choir exposed me to countries such as japan (where we performed) and I was among the senior members in the choir. Furthermore, I was in the tennis team in my school and was a deputy class monitor for my class in 1 year.</p>
<p>During the polytechnic, I was in rugby, canoe polo, tennis, rotaract club and was deputy class representative for one year. In addition, I clocked a sizable amount of hours in community service. Unfortunately, i was not in any leadership role in any of the Ecs that I joined. Two senior lecturers in my polytechnic wrote testimonials for me proving that I was in these Ecs and that I show a willingness to change in my studies. Furthermore, I did an internship in the polytechnic and achieved an A grade along with a recomendation from the supervisor. </p>
<p>Moreover, I had 2 years of mandatory service in the singapore army and was a deputy company sergeant major for my unit. I had won the staff of the month in my unit for 2 months and have a testimonial from my supervising officer indicating my achievements.
Also, I had a stint as an intern in a land surveying firm in hongkong for 2 months and as an intern as an accounts assistant in a local accounting firm ( and was responsible for a few accounts) for 6 months with recomendations from the higher ups in both firms. </p>
<p>Right now in college, I am only a member of the business club ( as i wanted to focus on my studies). however, i hope to join the international students association as a peer adviser and want to be a tutor for econs and accounting. </p>
