International Student, what are my chances?

Female, Asian student living in Korea.

Just got AP scores and they don't seem too good.

My school is a competitive school, and we have about 30 students

preparing for American Colleges.

My AP score is

World History - 5 / Macro Economics - 5 / Micro Economics - 4 /

US Government and Politics - 3 /

Most students in my school have 4s and 5s and many of them took

more AP tests than me. So I am kind of screwd here.

Last year(10th grade) I got 4.00/4.00 accumulative GPA for all the

American College prep courses(honors) and AP courses

and 3.9/4.0 for the mandatory Korean courses that I took

I think my GPA would be around average 3.9 this year (11th grade)

I also took PSAT in 10th grade but some say they don't count and

I really sucked. Do I have to send then the PSAT score?

And about sending AP scores...My seniors told me you don't have to send

all the scores, but just the good ones. Is that true??

My SATs...

My verbal average is around 620 right now, but I improved from 480 in one

year so I think I'm aiming 740 next year.

So I think I could get about

2250~2300 if I work really hard.

Now I am taking Literature Chemistry and Psychology.

I am going to take

II-C World History Literature Chemistry for SAT II.

Another question.

My school flows with people who have SATII 800s and AP 5s with

kind of lower SAT I score. Would it hurt to have a 3 in US gov compared

to other all 5 getting students?

I have several National and City competition awards for essay writing and

English. I am in several clubs like habitat, key club, MUN and so on but is not

a leader in them. I have not been a president or vice president during

9th grade to 11th grade. Have a license about Word Processing and

Computers. I have not participated in any physical activities but I am in

a band, an orchestra, and a choir. I am a president of a club I founded which

publishes children's books and another club. I went to a Environement

Protection camp where a certain company selected the students for the

camp.

So...this is my situation here and I think I am kind of really screwed up.

I don't know......

so, the best I can do is

(these are rather realistic goals)

get all fives in the next three AP courses

get over 750 in all the SAT II subjects, (800 in IIC and Chemistry)

get over 2250 in SAT I

win some more awards in speech, writing, arts and so on

publish book

then...where would be my chances.

would it benefit me 'cause I am an international student? or would it hurt me.

I was originally aiming Yale Princeton but I think I am screwed for that already

or is there still hope since there's one year to make a difference

do 3 in a AP subject or B in class grade hurt you so much that you dont even

have a chance in the top Ivy schools?

Please give me some advice

and my counselor said I have no color...and that I would look like a dull person

in my app because I am not doing "something important" like climbing mt

Everest.

or is there a still Yale chance if I get 2400 and do stuff.

and does climbing mt Everst help?

I am really lost here.

I really need help here~!

Yeaaaaaaaa.... no... you don't need help you will be fine. You will have a good chance everywhere... but no definites anywhere.

--- Is that what you wanted?

I need answers to my questions too...

but thanks anyway!!

just curious

not from those two

Daewon does not offer AP courses
